Who this notice covers

This notice explains how MJ Sports Management LTD handles personal data about prospective players, represented players, guardians, staff, coaches, scouts, academy and club contacts, partners, vendors and visitors who use our services or systems.

Data we process

• Identity, contact, guardian and safeguarding information.
• Football history, position, preferred foot, playing level, matches, training, assessments, measurements and development records.
• Academy, club, previous-agency, representation, opportunity, trial, travel, camp and tournament information.
• Documents, photographs, video, clips, communications, attendance, consents and access records.
• Costs, expenses, payments, invoices, player valuations and other accounting records.
• Security, audit, device, session and service-usage information needed to protect the system.

Why we use data

• Identify, assess, onboard and represent players.
• Plan and monitor development, training, matches, events, travel, trials and placements.
• Prepare controlled professional profiles and connect players with clubs and partners.
• Meet contractual, accounting, safeguarding, legal, regulatory and dispute-management duties.
• Operate, secure, audit and improve our services and communications.

Lawful basis and fairness

We process personal data only where a recognised basis applies, including consent, contract, legal obligation, vital interests, public interest where applicable, or legitimate interests assessed against the person’s rights. We apply fairness, transparency, purpose limitation, data minimisation, accuracy, storage limitation, security and accountability principles.

Children and safeguarding

Youth-player information receives additional controls. We verify appropriate guardian or authority information where required, limit access by role and purpose, and do not treat a child’s participation as permission for unrelated use of their data or image. Safeguarding concerns may be shared only with authorised people or bodies where necessary and lawful.

Who receives data

We share only the information needed for a defined purpose with authorised staff, coaches, trainers, scouts, clubs, academies, competition or event organisers, travel and service providers, professional advisers, regulators or authorities. A public profile or share pack is published only through an approved version and audience. Providers must protect the information they handle for us.

International activity

Trials, placements, tournaments and providers may require information to move outside Nigeria. We assess the destination, purpose and safeguards before transfer and provide additional information or obtain consent where required.

Retention and deletion

We keep each category only as long as its representation, safeguarding, contractual, legal, accounting, evidence or dispute purpose requires. Expiry, closure and withdrawal do not automatically erase records that must be retained. When retention ends, data is securely deleted or anonymised, subject to legal hold and verified requests.

Your choices and rights

• Ask whether we process your data and request access to it.
• Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
• Request deletion, restriction, objection or portability where the law applies.
• Withdraw consent without affecting processing already carried out lawfully.
• Ask about significant automated processing and request human review where applicable.
• Complain to us or to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.

Security and incidents

We use organisation boundaries, role-based access, encryption for restricted fields, version checks, audit records and operational safeguards. No system is risk-free. We investigate suspected incidents, contain them and notify affected people or authorities when required.

Use the support or privacy-request route available in your MJ Sports Management account, or contact your assigned agency representative. We may verify identity and authority before disclosing, correcting, exporting or deleting personal data.
